A mini-library of some of the show's biggest fashion statements | Updated January 23, 2013 with Alicia's gold Cartier watch from "Boom De Ya Da" and Elsbeth Tascioni's Ralph Lauren ruffle blouse from "Je Ne Sais What?"
______________________________________________________________________From suits to shoes, the fashion surfacing from The Good Wife is anything but ordinary. Who do we have to thank for all of the impeccably dressed actors? Daniel Lawson, the simply brilliant costume designer for The Good Wife. It has become a personal mission of mine to look at what the characters are wearing and pull together a mini-library of great fashion finds. With every new episode (and, of course, looking back), I will work to update this site with items, brands and similar fashion pieces featured on the show so you, too, can get the good look of The Good Wife.

Diane Lockhart
She's strong. She's smart. Oh yes, and let's not forget, she's beautiful. Diane Lockhart is the anchor over at Lockhart Gardner, always with her head in the game and her eye on the prize. Committed to doing right by her clients (and the firm), Diane isn't afraid to fight for what she believes in... and her fashion shows off her fierce and gumption-filled personality. Whether she's in a beautiful printed dress with large necklace or a two-piece suit with an ornate broach, Diane isn't afraid to make a statement... and, to be perfectly honest, I think this is what I admire most about her. While we've never seen in her closet, the audience is left to imagine it is a well-organized cavern wherein she only needs to wear something once before rotating it to the back of her wardrobe.
Keys to her fashion success: Diane's wardrobe is full of unique and dynamic pieces that show off her flair for the dramatic. She plays with classic pieces and cuts while using jewelry as the icing atop each well-though-out ensemble. Whether at the office or at a museum, Diane knows how to dress for her surroundings. What's more, her adoration of high-end shoes follows her no matter what social situation - a trait I both marvel at and respect.

Single-strap Mary Janes
Brand
Stuart Weitzman
Notes: To find these shoes, you’re really going to have to sleuth as the spring collection features nothing similar. If you’re lucky, you can find a patent Stuart Weitzman Mary Jane (style: First Lady) on sale from the fall/winter collection. It’s a great “next best thing” option. Otherwise, stay tuned for updates on this item - I'm actively searching for similar options.

Alicia Florrick
As the main character of The Good Wife, we've seen Alicia Florrick's wardrobe evolve just as much as her character. Let's be honest: Alicia season one is nothing like Alicia season three... and her fashion has changed just as much. No longer are we seeing her in matching suit separates in neutral colours on a week-in-week-out basis. Now Alicia's fashion can be defined as refined, bold and anything but average. Whether in a scarlet blazer, rolled cuffs or five-inch heels (or all three!), Alicia isn't afraid to let her outfits speak to her character and her mood.
Keys to her fashion success: Alicia keeps her wardrobe stocked with classic pieces that pair well with more modern and trendy elements. Rarely do we see Alicia in off-the-rack pre-matched suits because she's all about bringing life to wardrobe staples - like the black pencil skirt - by adding fabulous tailored blazers in diverse colours and styles. When she does select matching pieces, they are always impeccably beautiful (flash back to her blush pink suit in "Closing Arguments," season two's finale) and paired with a unique piece of jewelry, usually in the form of a ring or necklace.

Gold Wrist Watch
Brand Cartier It's out with the old and in with the new for Alicia Florrick who has packed up her black-banded watch from seasons one through three, for something a little splashier. With large-faced watches and metallic very popular in fashion right now, Alicia's new Cartier watch is a beautiful addition to her classic but current wardrobe.

Purple cashmere three-button blazer
Brand
Rena Lange
Notes: As with most Rena Lange blazers, this is going to set you back about $3,000. If you’re up for the splurge, Rena Lange has a beautiful purple wool/cotton summer tweed jacket as part of the spring 2012 line (pictured left, center) that would instantly get you the look.
If you’re hoping to find a similar piece on more of a budget, keep your eyes peeled for a classic cut blazer in a saturated jewel tone, like the Miranda multi-pocket blazer in cobalt by Milly (pictured left, bottom).

Black Suit (Skirt & Blazer)
Brand
Notes: This is a wonderful example of one of Alicia’s perfectly tailored suits paired with a simple, but lovely piece of jewelry. The rolled cuffs on the blazer are a classic Alicia fashion move, which, personally, I love. It adds a great twist on a classic piece and by exposing the wrists and lower arm, we’re seeing a less buttoned-down look in lieu of a strong sense of fashion and professionalism colliding.

Kalinda Sharma
Mysterious and elusive, Kalinda is the resident investigator over at Lockhart Gardner and the one person you don't ever want to cross. Armed with a superior ability to distill information and track everything from ricocheting bullets to paint chips in parking garages, her favourite accessory is a baseball bat with a coy attitude to match.
Keys to her fashion success: Kalinda doesn't just dress to impress, she dresses to get what she wants. Let's face it, she doesn't wear the most practical clothes to chase after criminals, but that's part of her mystique. She always gets what she needs, and she does it while wearing skirts or dresses (exclusively), high heeled boots and leather jackets. Period. Her wardrobe is expansive, but features multiples of the same types of items. Kalinda knows what works... and based on her success rate, I'm fairly trusting of her judgement (okay, well, minus that whole Peter Florrick indiscretion...).
